3407 Families Zero in on ATP Requirement; Push for Congressional Support of Increasing Commercial Pilot Qualification Standards

Buffalo, New York- September 30, 2009- The ‘Families of Continental Flight 3407’ reiterated their strong support for the recently-introduced House provision that would require all pilots being hired to fly for commercial airlines to hold an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license, a significant upgrade of the existing standard, and challenged the House leadership to stand up to a behind-closed-doors effort to weaken the requirement. 3407 Families Praise Holt, Higgins, and Lee for Aviation Safety Legislation in the House; Urge Finance Committee to Complete Reauthorization Bill

Buffalo, New York- July 27, 2009 – The efforts of the ‘Families of Continental Flight 3407’ received additional congressional support this past week when Congressmen Rush Holt (NJ-12), Brian Higgins (NY-27), and Chris Lee (NY-26) introduced the Snowe-Boxer ‘Ensuring One Level of Aviation Safety Act of 2009’ in the House of Representatives.
