The ‘Families of Continental Flight 3407’ and the City of Buffalo will re-unite and “Walk to Complete the Journey” to commemorate the one year anniversary in honor of their loved ones on Friday, February 12 at 9:30am, Clarence, NY, followed by a press conference at Buffalo Niagara International Airport at 2:30pm.

The 3407 families will “Walk to Finish the Journey” of the 51 souls lost and march 10 miles, mapping a route from the site of the crash to the Buffalo International Airport where Continental Flight 3407 was expected to land safely.

The public is invited to walk the route in 1 of 3 legs: 10 miles (starting at Long St), 4.2 miles (starting at West Herr at Main and Transit) or 1 mile (starting at the Holiday Inn on Genesee next to the airport). There will be rest stops along the way at Emmanuel Baptist, Clarence Coffee, Harris Hill Fire Hall, West Herr, Quaker Steak and Lube, Dunkin Donuts, and Holiday Inn.

In addition, “We Support 3407 Families’ Fight for Aviation Safety. Remembering Those Lost February 12, 2009” posters will be distributed for free at all Tops Friendly Markets locations. Aviation safety is the mission of the 3407 family group and the support of the community brings us one step closer in ensuring that this accident never repeats itself.
